Full Highlights

Classic foil highlights for maximum brightness and contrast. Best for clients wanting bold dimension or high-contrast colour. Refresh every 6 to 10 weeks.

Half-Head Highlights

Highlights placed only on the top and front sections. Half the time and cost of full highlights with most of the visual impact. Ideal for budget-conscious clients or those wanting subtle change.

Ash Toners

Total time depends on the service:

 

Single process: 90 minutes

Half-head highlights: 2 hours

Full-head highlights: 2.5 to 3 hours

Balayage: 3 to 4 hours

Fashion colour transformation: 4 to 6 hours

 

The first 15 minutes are always consultation. We ask about your colour history (previous colour, last bleach, home dye usage), assess your hair condition, and confirm the desired result with photo references. We do not start colour processing until you confirm the plan and price.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hair Colour at Centro Salon

  • 3 to 4 hours for most clients. The hand-painting process is slower than foil highlights because each strand is custom-placed for natural dimension. Long or thick hair can take up to 5 hours. We block out the appointment time accordingly so you are never rushed and the colour is never compromised by speeding up.

  • It depends on the service. Balayage lasts 4 to 6 months thanks to the soft regrowth blend. Full highlights need touch-ups every 6 to 10 weeks. Single-process colour and grey coverage need root retouching every 4 to 6 weeks. Fashion colours fade fastest, requiring refresh every 3 to 4 weeks. Your colourist will recommend a maintenance schedule based on your specific service.

  • Sometimes, but usually not safely. Lifting dark hair to a much lighter shade in one session often causes damage. We typically recommend a 2 to 3 session approach over 4 to 8 weeks for major transformations. This protects hair integrity and produces a better final result. We will explain the timeline and pricing during your consultation.

  • L'Oreal Professionnel formulations are formulated with built-in conditioning and protection. Properly applied colour causes minimal damage. The risk increases with bleach and major lifts. Our pre-colour protection treatments and post-colour Kerastase conditioning minimize this risk. The biggest damage risk comes from box dyes done at home or salons that skip the protection steps.

  • We assess each case individually. Over-processed hair often cannot take additional chemical services safely. We may recommend 4 to 6 weeks of Kerastase Premiere restorative treatments before proceeding. If the integrity cannot be restored, we will recommend a haircut to remove the most damaged sections first, then proceed with colour on the healthy hair underneath.

  • Yes. Colour correction is one of our specialties. Whether it is a box dye gone wrong, an unsuccessful bleach, brassy tones, or uneven previous colour work, our master colourists can usually correct it. Colour correction is priced based on complexity and time required, typically RM450 to RM1,200. Book a consultation first so we can assess and quote accurately.

  • Yes. If you are not satisfied with your colour result, return within 7 days for a complimentary adjustment. This applies to tone (too brassy, too cool, too warm), placement (highlights too thick or thin), and intensity. The promise does not cover normal fading or colour changes after the 7-day window. Contact us within 7 days to arrange the touch-up.

  • We recommend three things. Use a sulfate-free, colour-safe shampoo (Kerastase Reflection or Chroma Absolu are excellent). Wash with lukewarm water rather than hot. Apply UV-protection spray before sun exposure. We give you a personalized aftercare list at the end of your appointment. Take-home L'Oreal and Kerastase colour-protection products are available at our retail counter.
